20 Valentine's Day dishes that didn't go as planned: 'This is going to be the most romantic [thing] you've ever seen'

Some foods are "made with love," but some of these Valentine's dishes were certainly not.

It's that time of the year once again: Valentine's Day is upon us. It's the time of year to show the people around you how much you care about them. For couples, that often means nice date nights, a dozen roses, and cute love notes. For single people, it might mean sending out heart-shaped cards to your friends or sending a bouquet of flowers to your parents. There are many different ways to show your love and appreciation for the people in your life, and you don't have to pay a ton of money to do so.

Despite their best laid plans, these people were not feeling the love for the unfortunate foods they received. There's one recurring food that just cannot survive the journey through the US postal system: chocolate-covered strawberries. Every year, people lament about the devastating ways that their poor berries got tossed around or melted inside the delivery vans, arriving at their destination in a totally inedible state. A lot of these folks report that their berries cost $60+ for a dozen, yet they show up looking like they took a spin in a tumble dryer. These disappointed berry-buyers aren't the only ones who had an irritating meal, though, as you can see in the photos below.

Even if you wanted to take a big chocolatey-oniony bite, you can't! The peel is left on the onion. So even if you peeled the chocolate off to eat it, it would be stuck to the (unwashed??) skin of the onion. Just a bizarre product all around.

Although these berries look pretty rough, the customer could totally request a refund or replacement. This person sadly reported that they did not taste good, so let's hope the next batch was better.
